Morgan Gjovig took advantage of being familiar with the home course during the Middle Border Conference meet at Krooked Kreek Sept. 2. 

The sophomore shot a 46 to lead the Osceola girls golf team to a fourth place finish. 

Defending state champion Prescott won the meet with a 168, followed by St. Croix Central’s 183. Somerset took third at 207. 

Prescott’s Ava Salay earned medalist honors with a 36. SCC’s Sally Vangsness shot a 37. Prescott’s Liz Rohl carded a 42. 

After Gjovig, Amanda Steffen shot a 50. Abby Jonas finished with a 58 and Ashlyn Tinney carded a 61 for Osceola. 

MBC Meet at Amery 

The Osceola girls team finished sixth in the season opener Middle Border Conference meet at Amery Aug. 30. 

Defending state champion Prescott won the team title with a 170. Central took second at 191. Somerset was third at 237. Osceola finished with a 251.   

Prescott’s Liz Rohl and Jessica Heinsch earned medalist honors by shooting a 41 each. Prescott’s Ava Salay and St. Croix Central’s Sally Vangsness were two shots behind. 

Amanda Steffen led the Chieftains with a 57. Paeytyn Bleise carded a 61. Natalee Bjornstad finished with a 66. Morgan Gjovig shot a 67.
