Ten Osceola weightlifters qualified for the state meet after competing in the Wisconsin High School Powerlifting Association River Falls Regional Meet Dec. 10.Â
Each person took three attempts in the bench, squat, and deadlift. The highest weight lifted in each event was added to obtain a total.Â
Nevaeh Noonan won the 165-pound weight class with a 775 total. Her best in the deadlift was 385 pounds, followed by squat (255) and then bench (135).Â
Shelby Wiederin was second in the 132-pound weight class with a 595 total. Her deadlift was 255 pounds, while squat was 215 and bench was 125. Kayson Swanson took second at 123 pounds with a 660 total. His deadlift was 290 pounds, squat was 225 pounds and bench were 145 pounds. Keegan Saloka also took second at 148 pounds with a 980 total. His deadlift was 405 pounds, squat was 365 pounds and bench were 210 pounds.Â
Third place finishes came from Dillon Koester at 123 pounds as his deadlift was 250 pounds, squat at 235 pounds and bench at 145 pounds. Wyatt Jordan also took third at 181 pounds thanks to a 445 deadlift, squat at 410 and bench at 270.Â
Sarah Carlson placed fourth at 198 pounds as her deadlift was 275, squat at 235 and bench at 120. Matt Slechta was fourth at 148 pounds thanks to a 375-pound deadlift, a 335 squat and a 190 bench. Marcus Kjornes also took fourth at 242 pounds with a deadlift at 445, squat at 405 and bench at 245.Â
