The Village of Osceola board of trustees received a recommendation to make the transition of the full time office assistant position to a full time Treasurer position with a new hire starting November 2022. The recommendation was presented by Village clerk, Fran Duncanson, during the September board meeting. The recommendation was approved and the Treasurer position is currently being advertised.

Required by Wisconsin statute, the Treasurer position is outlined in §61.25 and §61.26. According to the statute, the village needs to have reliable financial information in a timely manner on a regular basis to make sound financial decisions. “That has been lacking,” explained Duncanson’s report to the village board.
