The Town of Osceola recently approved bid proposals for road improvements within the Town of Osceola. Supervisor Cronick made the motion to accept the bid submitted by Monarch Paving Company to perform work on a project that includes 110th Avenue from 210th Street to 195th Street. The cost for this proposal is $243,669. Supervisors also approved Monarch’s bid for a second project that includes 200th Street to 110th Avenue to 120th Avenue for the cost of $167,219.
In addition, the estimate of trap rock for these two projects was approved for approximately $13,000.
Culvert Review Assessment
The Town received two bid proposals from Delmore Consulting, LLC. The first bid was for culvert inventory, mapping in the amount of $4,900. The second bid was for culvert assessment, inventory and mapping in the amount of $8,200.
The Town Board and the Public Works department collectively agreed that this work could be done internally versus utilizing the services of Delmore Consulting as long as the work can be completed within the Public Works scheduled hours. The Board was informed that two culverts on 110th Street need to be replaced before the road work can be performed by Monarch Paving. Public works supervisor Todd Raddatz reported that he ordered the culvert for 90th Street by the Rod & Gun Club but it has not been built yet. According to Raddatz’ report, “Public Works has been working closely with the County Highway and Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to replace the culvert on 90th Street. Materials for the culvert are currently backlogged.”
