plane crash

A small plane crashed in a soybean field not far from the Osceola Airport on Monday evening, August 9 at around 6 p.m. The Polk County Sheriffs Department responded to a call about the crash. The pilot, whose name is being withheld, was transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minn. for non-life threatening injuries. He was the sole occupant of the plane at the time of the crash. 

The Osceola Police Department, County Line First Responders, the Osceola Fire Department and the lakes area ambulance service also assisted at the scene. The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are currently investigating the crash.
