Parade

Osceola Middle School band participated in the parade in 2019. The parade will be Sunday at 1 p.m. on Cascade Street.

The 97th Annual Osceola Community Fair will be kicking off its annual events on Friday, September 10th. For three days, the fairgrounds will be home to fun for everyone with traditional exhibits, live music, rides, food court and beer garden, truck and tractor pulls, Miss and Little Miss coronations and the Osceola Grand Parade.

The fair grounds are open to all with free admission. Showcase your talents or appreciate the efforts of others in the fair building where you can check out ribbon-winning skills mastered by our local residents from gardening, baking, sewing, painting, and more. Exhibits can be viewed in the fair building from 12:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, Saturday during the day and Sunday through the parade. Local businesses and organizations also offer an opportunity to learn more about them and often have some giveaways and prize drawings.

If truck or tractor pulls are more your speed, come on down to the truck pull on Friday night. The tractor pull takes place on Saturday starting at 11am. Or get those legs moving with the pedal tractor pull on Sunday. For details on the pulls including registration times and fees, admission rates, and more, visit the fair website.

The midway will be opening Friday evening at 5 p.m. with Stipe’s Shows amusement rides and traditional fair concessions. Be sure to get in on the Friday night wristband special where a $20 wristband means all the rides you can handle from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. If you want to come back on Saturday, Stipe’s Shows opens at noon offering a Saturday wristband special for $20 from noon until 4 p.m. Individual tickets are also available for purchase. The midway rides are open on Sunday, too, if you need to get in one more spin on the Tilt-a-Whirl!

New this year at the fair is the pop-up arcade! Get your game on playing Pac-Man, Mortal Kombat, Centipede, and more. All proceeds from the pop-up arcade are being donated to the fair’s new building fund.

Enjoy cold beer and hot food in the beer garden and food court. Here, you’ll also find the Main Stage featuring live music all weekend long. “Drop Tailgate” takes the stage Friday night from 7:30 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. with high-energy country, rock and pop music. “Run Lucy Run” will provide the Saturday afternoon entertainment from 1PM to 3:30 PM with “The White Sidewalls” providing the soundtrack for the evening toe-tapping and finger-snapping from 8 p.m to 11p.m. All music events are free to attend.

Also new this year is the sawdust pile. Located on the North end of the fair building, don’t miss out on your kids’ opportunity to grab a bunch of coins to spend on the fair arcade or carnival food and rides! We will have several age groups and hundreds of coins to find.

The Osceola Grand Parade makes it way through town on Sunday, September 12th at 1 p.m. Find a place to sit along Cascade Street/WI 35 beginning at First Avenue to 10th Avenue. Checkpoints are set up to assist visitors as street and highway access are blocked-off during the event.

The Ambassador Coronation will be at the Fairgrounds Grandstand Sunday, September 12th at 5:30 p.m. During this special event, candidates are celebrated as they vie for their place on the Osceola Ambassador Court. Prizes, awards and crowning conclude the festivities beginning at 5:30 p.m.
