Outcome: The St. Croix Falls volleyball team finished fourth out of 40 teams at the Menomonie Sprawl in their first big tournament of the season. The Saints defeated River Valley, North Crawford, Lakeland and Newman. SCF lost to a powerful River Falls team and to Eau Claire North in three games.

SCF Tournament Leaders: Kills: Sidney Hoverman 51, Emily McCurdy 25, Kylie Broten 22 and Olivia Miron 21. Aces: Sydnei Larson 14 and Hoverman 9. Digs; Lucia Neuman, 23 McCurdy 20 Kaylee Miron 18. Highest Passing Percentage: Kaylee Miron. Blocks: Olivia Miron 12, Broten 10 and McCurdy 9.

When and Where: Sept. 3 at Siren

Outcome: St. Croix Falls 3, Siren 0

Summary: The Saints started their season with a sweep of the Dragons in Siren. Cumulative total: 75-29 winning the games by scores of 25-8, 25-12 and 25-9.

SCF Leaders: Kills: Hoverman 12 and McCurdy 11. Assists: Neuman 24. SCF had a team hitting average of .635 and recorded 12 service aces. 

Upcoming: St. Croix Falls will entertain the Webster Tigers on Sept. 12 before heading to Frederic to take on the Vikings on Sept. 17.
