SCF Junior Payden Bainbridge runs through the mud on her way to a 16th place overall finish and a PR of 24:22.78 at the Saints home cross country meet on Oct. 3.


Where and When: Saint Croix Falls Invitational Thursday Oct. 3, 2019

Summary/Results:  The girls varsity team placed fourth out of six teams at the meet led by Sierra Braund who finished 10th (23:08 for 5,000 meters), and Payden Bainbridge who finished 16th (24:22). The boys team placed fourth out of five teams, with Mason Peer finishing seventh overall followed by teammate Viktor Knigge in eighth.

Highlights: “I thought all our runners had good showings at our home meet and posted really good times,” Saints’ coach Adam Kovar said. “It was great to have Mason Peer, Viktor Knigge and Sierra Braund have top 10 finishes.”

What it means: “It was a lot of fun to be able to host our home meet and run at our place,” Kovar noted. “There was a big turnout which made for an exciting event.”

Upcoming: St. Croix Falls will now turn their attention to the big Lakeland conference meet to be held in Webster on the Yellow Lake golf course on Oct. 15.
