When and Where: Dec. 3 at St. Croix Falls

Outcome: St. Croix Falls 66, Baldwin-Woodville 34 (non-conference)

Summary: St. Croix Falls defeated a Middle Border conference team when they took down the Baldwin-Woodville Blackhawks in a game played in St. Croix Falls. The Saints roared to a 27-12 halftime lead and cruised to a 32 point decision.

Highlights: SCF had four players score in double figures and nine players contribute to the scoring column in all. Emily McCurdy led the way with 13 points followed by Lucia Neuman with 12, Olivia Miron with 11 and Brianna McCurdy added 10.

When and where: Dec. 6 at St. Croix Falls

Outcome: St. Croix Falls 67, Frederic 15

Summary: St. Croix Falls opened West Lakeland play with a lopsided 52 point win over the Frederic Vikings. The Saints’ stifling defense held the visitors to just 15 points for the contest.

Highlights: Once again SCF had four players in double figures and nine players contribute at least a point to their scoring bucket. Kaylee Miron led the way with 16 points followed by Neuman with a dozen. Emily McCurdy and Olivia Miron each added 10 points.  

What this Means: St. Croix Falls ran its overall record to 4-0 with the pair of wins and is 1-0 in West Lakeland play. 

Comments: “The girls are seeing the floor well on offense,” St. Croix coach Angie Maternowsky said. “We are making the extra pass to help our team score in transition. The team is doing a nice job spreading out the scoring. On defense we are putting pressure on the ball handlers creating turnovers in the half court.”  

Upcoming: St. Croix Falls will host Grantsburg on Friday the 13thin a Lakeland contest and then travel to Webster on the 17th for another conference matchup with the Tigers.
