When and Where: Oct. 24 at St. Croix Falls

Summary: The Saints earned a thrilling 2-1 win in overtime against the Baldwin-Woodville Blackhawks to open Regional play. SCF/Unity had earned the 3-seed for the tournament while B-W was the 6-seed.

When and Where: October 26 at Hayward

Comments: “Listed as the underdog Unity/SCF played with a chip on their shoulder,” coach Craig Zipperer said. “This group was motivated and came out with tenacity contesting every ball. During the regular season Unity/SCF won the two prior matches with a score of 2-1. It is always a challenge to beat a team a third time and to hold them to no goals is rewarding. Kullan Parks scored twice while Connor Pruden, on a penalty kick, placed the ball in the side net past the goalkeeper. Witnessing the reaction of the boys after the game was pretty incredible, many not realizing what they accomplished until halfway home on the bus.”

Upcoming: St. Croix Falls/Unity will now travel to Rice Lake to take on the top seeded Warriors in the first round of Sectional play. The winner will advance to the Sectional final with a chance to play in the State tournament.
