Missy Jones

Sophomore Missy Jones watches her putt on the fourth hole of the Sectional golf tournament at Pheasant Hills in Hammond. Jones will return next season with three of the other four varsity members in hopes of continuing to build the SCF program.

When and Where: October 8th at Pheasant Hills in Hammond, WI

Summary: St. Croix Falls Saint’s golfer Missy Jones competed at the Sectional golf meet held at Pheasant Hills in Hammond. The tournament was played over 18 holes with the top two teams and the top three individuals not on a qualifying team earning a trip to the State meet. Prescott earned the top spot with a team score of 390 and St. Croix Central also punched their ticket to State by finishing second with a team score of 395. Holly Carlson of Ellsworth, Kieman Smith of Northwestern and Somerset’s Haley Myers qualified as individuals.

Comments: “Sophomore Missy Jones competed in her first Sectionals this year,” St. Croix Falls coach Katie Jacobson said. “She shot a 56 on the front nine which kept her close to the pack but then shot a 70 on the back nine leaving her short of qualifying for State. It was a great experience and we hope that we can send a couple more (to Sectionals) next year. Missy is only a sophomore so she can set her goals high and we will work towards achieving that. It was a great season for the Lady Saints and I look forward to being back on the course with them next summer.”

Upcoming: With the Sectional meet completed St. Croix Falls now focuses on the 2020 season. The Saints will return their entire team for next year except for senior Maddy Stensven.
