Roger B. Martell of Osceola died Feb. 6 at his home in Haines City, Fla.
Roger was born in Somerset to Fred and Laura Martell. He graduated from Somerset High School. He was married to the love of his life, Doreene Elizabeth Rundell, for nearly 61 years and they enjoyed a wonderful life together.
Roger worked at Andersen Windows, farmed his dairy farm in Farmington, worked as a realtor, and worked for the Osceola School District as both a bus driver and a courier.
Roger loved playing cards including 500, Canasta, Cribbage, Gin and Pinochle. He also was a prankster and loved to make people laugh. If you knew Roger, you probably have some funny stories to remember him by. A few of his favorite sayings were “It’s good enough for the girls I hang around with!” and “Well, let me tell you …”. Roger and Doreene spent many years in sunny Florida and enjoyed his time in the sun and warmth. He loved to attend his grandchildren’s events in everything from basketball to hockey to dance to softball. He loved everything involving family and spent as much time as he could with his children and grandchildren.
Roger is reuniting in heaven with his beloved wife Doreene; grandson, Jacob Paul Martell; parents, Fred and Laura; brothers, Warren and Roland Martell; sisters, Burnett Anez, Ruth Merkt, Ruby Carlson, and Eileen Strohbeen.
