Richard Allen Johnson (Slick), of St. Croix Falls, succumbed to cancer Nov. 16, 2019, while surrounded by his family. He was 74.

Rich was born June 15, 1945, in Osceola, to William and Helen Johnson. He graduated from St. Croix Falls High School in 1963. Rich spent 16 years as a truck driver for Tower Asphalt. He was a “jack-of-all-trades” and kept busy painting and staining homes for many years. His extensive talents have been enjoyed by many people over the years, whether it was a mural at the hospital, pinstriping and lettering vehicles and signs, or carving something from wood. There was no limit to his talents. Rich also loved the outdoors. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing. He spent a lot of time hunting and fishing with his sons and grandsons. There are many stories to be told. But you never asked him where his “Honey Holes” were.

Richard is survived by his children: Darren (Judith) Johnson, Denae (Chad) Tolzman and Jason Johnson as well as his 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his two brothers Dan (Mel) Johnson and Roger Johnson.

Services will be held Nov. 21 at North Valley Church, Centuria. Visitation is at 4 p.m. Service begins at 5 p.m. Dinner served after the service.
