Reuben was born April 3, 1944, in River Falls, Wis. His family lived in Roberts, Wis., until he was in middle school then moved to Centuria and he graduated from Unity High School.
On Aug. 3, 1963, he married Bonita Lee, his high school sweetheart. In 1965 they purchased an 80 acre farm southeast of Eureka where they raised their five children, Brent, Brad, Brenda, Becky and Briana.
