Regina Mary (Garske) Quist of Osceola, died Jan. 28, 2021, at the Christian Community Home in Osceola. She was 93.
Regina was born into a large, fun, faith-filled family on June 28, 1927, in East Farmington to Clem and Rose (Neidermire) Garske. She was the oldest of 12 children. She helped her folks on the farm and helped to raise her siblings. She was a graduate of Osceola High School. Out of high school, she worked as a banker in New Richmond. On Oct. 23, 1954, she married LuVerne Quist. Together they raised 11 children in Osceola, where Regina was a loving homemaker and very special mom for her family. As the children grew up, she also worked out of the home as a waitress and later as a banker in Osceola. Upon retirement, she and LuVerne were able to travel and enjoy time with family and friends.
She was happiest when her loved ones would get together. Whether it was Sundays with her siblings and their families or Quistmas with her kids, family time was important to her. She enjoyed taking family summer vacations with the kids and having coffee at the kitchen table with family, friends and neighbors. She spent time gardening and canning, knitting mittens for the food shelf and teaching her kids to sew. In her down time, she loved putting puzzles together, fishing for sunnies and listening to Twins games. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Osceola, where she faithfully attended mass and participated in the Altar Society.
In her final years, she was well cared for by Royal Oaks and Christian Community Home in Osceola. She will be dearly missed by all.
