John Richard Braun, age 83 of Osceola, died May 1, 2019, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.

 John was born January 25, 1936, in Juneau, Wis., one of 16 children to Clarence and Martha (Parpart) Braun.  He enlisted in the U. S. Army in 1954, serving in Korea and two tours in Vietnam.  John was stationed all over the world, including Hawaii and Germany.  He retired a Staff Sergeant in 1972.

 John was united in marriage to Carolyn Ziemer and later married Beverly Hahn on April 7, 1992.  Following his military service, John was employed with Viebrock Construction and was the property manager for Osceola Rentals for many years.  He was a member of the American Legion and VFW.  John enjoyed motorcycling, drives in the country, bird watching, and reading.

 John was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Carolyn; brothers, Clarence (Betty) Braun Jr., Thomas Braun, Dwayne Braun, and Charles (Shirley) Braun; sisters, Virginia Braun, Janice (Ken) Helmer, and Donna (Ronald) Jensen; brothers-in-law, Ronald Jensen, Leo Wehner, and James Bahls; sister-in-law, LuAnn Braun

 He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Beverly; daughter, Cheryl Ann (Mark Lee) Braun; two step-children, John T. Hahn Jr. and Corene Hahn-Hacken; eight step-grandchildren, Cody Hahn, Carissa Ebler, Matt Videen, Nick Videen, Alana Martinez, Jade Hacken, Sam Hacken, and Gunner Hacken; four step-great-grandchildren, Braelynn, Simon, Mazi, and Braelynn; brothers, Darryl Braun, Norman (Jean) Braun, Vaughn (Judith) Braun, and Daniel (Janet) Braun; sisters, Janice Helmer, Dawn Wehner, Lila Bahls, Pamela Braun, and Charlene Selsing; sisters-in-law, Carol Braun and Marilyn Braun; and also many nieces and nephews.

Services will be May 14 at 11 a.m. at the Grandstrand Funeral Home in Osceola. Visitation one hour before service.

Grandstrand Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
