Douglas Dean Wright of Osceola died Jan. 26, 2019, surrounded by family at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN. He was 51.

Doug was born Oct. 5, 1967, to Darrell and Donna (Owens) Wright in Ladysmith. He attended school in Osceola and graduated class of 1986. He was employed at the Osceola School District as a bus driver and loved his job. He truly appreciated the opportunity to be a part of the children’s lives in his community.

Doug was a man of integrity and great character. He loved his family and was extremely proud of his girls. He was very involved with their sports. If he wasn’t out coaching one of their teams, you could see and hear him in the stands cheering loudly.

Doug had a passion for playing billiards. He mastered being able to run a table like a pro. He made numerous friends through the sport and the leagues he was in. Doug also enjoyed coaching and running the girls youth basketball league. He would light up with excitement when there was a tournament he needed to organize.

Doug was also a lover of people and always found the good in them. He was a very generous and thoughtful man. He had a kind heart that kept him proud and humble. Even in his death he was helping people. He was very proud to be a registered organ donor and he was able to help others. Many other people will be able to be saved because he so selflessly gave of himself. We are so proud of him for doing so. He will be greatly missed by many.

Doug was preceded in death by his father, Darrell Wright and step-father, Phil Jensen.

Doug is survived by his mother, Donna Jensen; spouse, Gwen; children, Hailey, Hannah, Olivia, and Morgan; brothers, Dwayne (Tania) and David (Tammy); nieces and nephews, Jordyn, Kendra, Alex, Brayden Wright, Corey Doten, Jessica Johnson, Adam, Brett, Derek, Carlie Gibson, Robby and Cassie Jensen; brother, Paul Jensen; sister; Patience Jensen; father and mother-in-law, Glenn and Vicki Minnick and many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
