David Glenn Bethke died surrounded by family on Sept. 19, 2019. He was 77.

David Glenn Bethke was born Jan. 15, 1942, in New Richmond. He was the second oldest of nine to Carl and Marjorie Bethke. He married Shirley Koehler on July 25, 1964; they are proud parents to Duane (Patti) Bethke, Lisa (Pete) Carlson, and Tricia Bethke in Osceola where they continue to reside.

He was employed by Andersen Corporation for 34 years until his retirement in 1998.

His perfect day would have been spent on any lake in Northern Wisconsin with his family. He enjoyed being a husband, father,and grandfather. He will always be remembered taking photos, sharing stories of the past, and enjoying the holiday season.

David was preceded in death by brother Keith, parents, in-laws (Leonard and Laura Koehler), sisters Judy Holle, Cindy Cody, brother-in-law Steve Schmidt, brother-in-law, Doug Johnson, and friends from work, church, and childhood.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; children, grandchildren, Danielle Bethke, Matthew (Katelyn) Bethke, Tyler Bethke, Emily Carlson, and Haakon Carlson, and great-grandchildren, Kaden and Theodore Bethke; siblings Robert Bethke, Chuck Bethke, Sharon (Don) Tarnowski, Linda Schmidt, brother-in-law Jerry, and Bonnie (Paul) Gehrman; in-laws Rosceal Johnson, Virgil (Deb) Koehler, Darrel (Peggy) Koehler, Eugene (Kristy) Koehler, Sheila (Jack) Lorimor, Richard (Vicky) Koehler, Kevin (Becky) Koehler, Vernon (Shannon) Koehler, and Dean (Abigail) Koehler, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

His life was remembered at a private ceremony for siblings, children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and a few close friends on Sept. 24 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Osceola.
