In a joint venture, The Village of Osceola, the Osceola Chamber and Main Street organization are calling for residents and businesses to help support a new look for downtown Osceola called “Luminate Downtown.” Our winters can be long and dark and the project will transform downtown into a magical wonderland with twinkly lights in the trees that line the streets. The lights will bring holiday cheer and draw shoppers and patrons to the downtown district in the evenings throughout the entire year.

As a collaborative project, it will take some expense upfront—an expense that comes to an estimated $5000 if we light 15 trees around town. The installation will be done by volunteers estimated at 75 hours of manpower. We need our community to help support the “Luminate Downtown” project. Our merchants will be helping to fund some but we can’t rely on them for the entire budget.  We want to let the general community know that if it’s something everyone will enjoy and everybody helps some, it doesn’t always have to be on the shoulders of our small business owners or any one organization. As long as we can get a good base, we will light as many trees as we receive funding for this year.  We expect the new LED lights will last for at least three to five years and will be enjoyed by residents and visitors alike.

Here are the ways you can help:

Make a tax-deductible donation to the Osceola Main Street, a 501c3 non-profit a) mail to the Chamber at PO Box 251 Osceola, WI 54020. Or b) go to www.myosceolachamber.org/luminate-downtown-donation to make an online donation.

Businesses and residents can help sponsor a tree. Each donor will receive a small plaque with your names or business name(s) that will be displayed downtown and on the Chamber website.

Sign up to volunteer to string lights. Sessions will be announced soon.
