Mark Erickson, regional president of MidWestOne Bank, will serve a three-year term on the Wisconsin Bankers Association Board of Directors.

The association is the state’s largest financial industry trade association, representing nearly 235 commercial banks and savings institutions, their nearly 2,300 branch offices and 23,000 employees.

The organization offers education and advocacy for the state’s bankers.

“Any of the banks can call in and get advisement on policies, procedures, legalities,” Erickson explained. “It really serves a lot of purposes for banks.

“For me, after being in banking soloing it’s fun to move from working in the industry to also becoming an advocate for the industry,” he continued. “It’s very much an honor.”

Rose Oswald Poels, president and CEO of the WBA, welcomed Erickson to the board.

“I am happy to welcome Mark to the Board of Directors,” Oswald Poels said. “His leadership and commitment to the banking community will be an asset to the board.”
