Thirty-five year, Osceola Elementary School teacher Susan Turner will be retiring at the end of the summer term.
Turner’s retirement was accepted at last week’s Osceola School Board meeting where Superintendent Mark Luebker read Turner’s retirement notice aloud to the board. In it, Turner highlighted the many memories she made while serving the Osceola School District.
“It has been a privilege accomplishing goals and making friends,” she wrote. “… I hope I have been a positive role model for our children.”
To that, President Craig Brunclik declared, “Thank you so much for all your years!”
Osceola Youth Baseball coach Jason Schmidt said a few words about the upcoming baseball season and his appreciation for the board’s continued support, “This is really a great program for the kids.”
Schmidt illustrated that the program is still thriving with over 250 participating kids and the district’s dedication to making the program free.
A new addition to the program this year will be coaching manuals, which will include useful information for coaches including tips, guidelines, and practice plans that will help coaches of all skill levels.
