The body of a 20-year-old man was found in the St. Croix River Saturday morning, KSTP reported.

St. Croix Falls police were dispatched to the Lions Park around 7 a.m. after a witness reported hearing someone calling for help from the river. Emergency responders found the man’s body at approximately 10:15 a.m.

The St. Croix Falls police department did not immediately reply to a request for information.

According to the KSTP report, the man’s body was found 20 or 30 feet from shore in about 8 feet of water, and police are calling the death an accidental drowning.

His mother on Monday identified him to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune as Joshua W. Hinckley, St. Croix Falls, a 2017 graduate of SCFHS.
