The Lakeview Health Foundation Virtual Gala is set for Thursday, Oct. 22, at 7 p.m. The event will be free of charge and funds raised will benefit Lakeview Hospital’s Homecare and Hospice program, which serves patients across the St. Croix Valley and Western Wisconsin.

“Patients in hospice and homecare tell us how thankful they are for comfort and care items that make their experience a little better,” said Paul Erickson, executive director of the Lakeview Health Foundation. “We are grateful to our communities for supporting the gala this year to help us enhance patients’ experience across the Valley and into Wisconsin.”

Lakeview’s Homecare & Hospice program is based on compassion; kindness and respect to ensure patients live as comfortably and independently as possible. The goal is to help alleviate the symptoms and stress of recent surgery, chronic or acute illness, or progressive disease, so patients and families enjoying their time together.

Funds raised at the gala will be used for programs and equipment including massage therapy, music therapy, volunteer programs, personal care items, tools for symptom management and planning care, as well as homecare equipment.

Each year, Lakeview Homecare & Hospice clinicians make thousands of patient visits across the Valley.

"Our doctors, nurses, social workers and support staff works together to guide, nurture and enhance quality of life for community members facing the challenges of chronic or advanced illnesses," said Denise Plourde, Director of Lakeview Homecare & Hospice. "Funds raised at the Lakeview Health Foundation Gala directly support our mission to provide the highest quality care to our St. Croix Valley neighbors. Gifts from the gala provide tools, resources and education that help patients maintain dignity, enjoy quality time with family and friends, and control their medical decisions for as long as possible.”

The annual Lakeview Health Foundation Gala has raised nearly $1.4 million for patients since the event’s inception in 2008.
