Raska Sewer expanding
Raska Sewer Service has plenty to celebrate as they commemorate two decades in business this year. Starting out in 1999 as purely a septic pumping firm, owner Keith Raska quickly saw a need for portable restrooms in the area, and his brainchild grew from 12 toilets in 2002 to about 400 in 2019, as well as two luxury restroom trailers, creating an area of coverage stretching from Hudson to Danbury.
Raska’s newest milestone, however, is the opening of an additional location in Frederic. As demand grew for his services north of the Osceola area, he decided it was no longer cost effective to conduct all of RSS’ business out of the location on Highway 35. This previous winter, a $180,000 second location was constructed by F&B Contractors. It will be open three days per week.
Raska invites the community to attend an open house at the Frederic location on 601 Short Avenue. The festivities will be held on Thursday, June 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Hot dogs, beans, chips and beverages will be served and a formal ribbon cutting will also take place.
“I just hope the customers keep goin’,” he said. “It’s been a very good business, the portable toilet business.”
